Where shingle roofs leak
Pipe boots. The rubber seal around plumbing vents is the number one cause of shingle roof leaks in Orlando. The sun cracks it, and water runs down the pipe.
Valleys. Valleys are where two slopes meet. They carry more water than any other part of the roof, so worn shingles or open seams here show up fast.
Wind damage. Summer storms and hurricanes can lift or tear off shingles. Once the seal breaks, the next wind can take more.
Flashing. Where the roof meets a wall, chimney or skylight, metal flashing keeps water out. Loose or rusted flashing lets it in. See flashing and vent leak repair.
Nail pops. Nails can back out over time and push up the shingle above them, leaving a hole.
How we fix shingle roof leaks
We start in the attic when we can, so we can follow the water back to where it gets in. Then we fix the real cause: a new pipe boot, replaced shingles, rebuilt valley or new flashing. We check the decking under the leak and replace any soft or rotted wood. You get photos before and after.
Storm just hit and water is coming in? Call for 24/7 emergency roof leak repair. We can tarp the roof to stop the water, then make the full repair once it’s dry.
